Social Clubs

Lake Chapala Society

Among the numerous clubs and organizations one can join (see below), the most helpful to visitors, new and long-time residents is the Lake Chapala Society (LCS), founded over 50 years ago as an expatriate service organization with a strong commitment to helping the local community.

The LCS has an extensive book and video library, and can answer any question you may have about living in Mexico and, in particular, the Lakeside area.

There are regularly scheduled programs providing free tests and screenings for medical concerns like skin cancer, blood pressure, hearing, vision and diabetes. Vaccinations are also given at very low cost.

Spanish lessons at all levels are available for a very small fee. The LCS Lecture Program provides a variety of learning and participatory activities on a monthly basis.

You can learn all about the programs and services offered by the Lake Chapala Society at their web site by selecting the link on the right of this page.
